A New Experience With A Horses
Who can deny about tryin a new experience? This is a new experience for me besides my
task that i should search information about horses. Really excited!
Saturday on November 5th 2016 we planned to go to Unit
Rehabilitasi Reproduksi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan IPB. Before we visited the
place, one of my friends have already made an appointment with FKH club called
‘Equestrian Club IPB’. The IPB university is near from my home but i had to go
to campus first to meet my friends because they didn’t know the way to the university.
Arrived at 08.00 but i had to wait for others, then around 08.30 we went to IPB
by motorcycle. Its about 2 hours from Pakuan University to IPB (Bogor
Agricultural University) and the weather was very hot as usual but thats not a
big problem because i enjoyed the road so muchhhhhhh.
After we arrived at the university we got a visitor card and
we were not finished the road because this university was very big so we were
confused looking for URR even though this is the second time i visited IPB University.
But one that i like from this university was the fresh breeze because there
were a lot of big trees.
Finally we arrived at URR and we met Putra he was a fifth semester
student at FKH IPB and the person that gave us so much information, he gave us
information about the feed-giving for horses, the grooming list, the list for
the things that should taken care of the horse and many more. He also show us
the stable. There were fourteen horses but it was someone else’s horses, the
student have been trusted by the owners to treat and taking care on it. They also
have an equastrian club named “Equestrian Club IPB”, this club is for student
in IPB who interest about horse sport, horse health and horse care. You can
follow their instagram account to get more information about the activity.

Everyday the horses was taken out from the stable for
grooming (cleaned up and brushed), the person who usually cleaned up the horse
was not a student but another one who also helped the student if they have to
study at college. After that the horse placed on the paddock for sunbathing.
Around 10.00-10.30 the horses were back to the stable. If the horse was dirty,
they cleaned it up again before they put the horse on the stable.
There were local and import horses in URR. The horses that i
saw was the local one and female. Her name is Sophia and the type of it was
Gayo. “Gayoe” is horse that comes from the island of Sumatra and the name comes
from the Gayoe hills on the island. These horses are primarily used for
transportation and are fairly common on Sumatra still.
This is sophia!
Then we finished our trip without riding the horse, we are
not allowed to ride it because the owner was not there. What’s more fun was i
can see the horse who won the national championship in URR but sadly i forgot
to take the picture of that horse. But this trip still was my another great
experience!
Here are some pictures when i was there ^_^
